I'm trying to create some interest, texture, coordination of colour and of course use left over or discarded fabric scraps rather than throw them out. I've matched these different fabrics of silk, denim, cotton, canvas, Chinese embroidery, curtain fabric etc, puffed them up with synthetic filling and sewn them on to an unpicked linen garment. I intend to sew several panels of these bits and pieces together to make a bed cover or a warm and creative quilt. Of course, there are plenty of raw edges, crooked seams, over stitching, uneven quilting, rough pulls of the fabric BUT how enjoyable it is to break the rules and create something different and useful!
