That's it! Use those off cuts, sew those little pieces of treasured, unique fabric together, stuff them with washed pillow stuffing and sew and oversew. Fill that bobbin many times until the item is finished. Here's a blue quilt I have sewn and stuffed. Unfortunately it's so difficult to get the camera to record the lustrous colour. I have yet to line it. But what about this oven mitt, achieved in the same manner and lined with a piece of retrieved blanket. Other items, made from recycled fabrics, can be seen in my Etsy shop called Creatifbitsnpieces.
Randomly quilted navy blue serge tote with damask appliqué of a cross or crucifix.
Ideal for your prayer book, phone, car keys, tissues or whatever you need to take to Church. It's fully lined in patterned rayon with three inside pockets to accommodate all that you need for the occasion. It measures 33cm x 36cm so you can hang it over the pew in front while you go to communion. It would make a very thoughtful gift for that special person and I would be very happy to gift wrap it for you. Unfortunately the photo doesn't capture the richness of the colour and you will find the bag more pleasing in colour than can be portrayed. See more at creatifbitsnpieces at Etsy.com |
