This scarf doesn't look very flattering in the photo I must admit. It's pure silk from a Kimono lining. It's old silk and you can see the quality (but not from the photo). I dyed it in a soup of green tea leaves which has given it a golden glow. I dipped the edges in ink and superimposed a stylised drawing of mountains, trees and streams. You can see the detail in the photo of the edging. I then sewed a stiffened border of light black silk to weight the ends for effective draping then washed it in a tie dyed fashion to give it the crumpling effect. Because the fabric is so old there are hand stitching marks and one or two worn areas which give it a real authentic vintage look.
